In 2009 Yosra was awarded an Undergraduate Research Scholarship
to work with Bridget.

The research she has undertaken traces the many visits to Leeds of significant American abolitionists such as Henry 'Box' Brown, Ellen and William Craft, Frederick Douglass, Martin Delany, William Howard Day, James Pennington, Sarah Parker Remond and Harriet Beecher Stowe.

In addition it shows their engagement with a network of British activists who included William Allen and Edward Baines. The outcome of the research is an exhibition to be shown at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery at the University of Leeds in October 2011, a short film, and various events held at the University and at the Leeds City Museum to celebrate Black History Month.
